What was reported
[USDOT number removed] / [MC number removed] ([company name removed]). Operating authority application (Motor Property Common Carrier) was filed 02/25/2026 and Status shows "Accepted" with BOC-3 "OK," but Insurance shows "Not OK" on the FMCSA Licensing & Insurance (L&I) system and on the public SAFER Company Snapshot — MC number does not display at all on SAFER, and Operating Authority Status shows "NONE" with Authority History and Insurance History both completely empty.
However, the MOTUS platform itself shows a contradictory picture: Operating Authority Information lists Current Status as "Active," Status Reason "Granted," and Insurance Details showing a BMC-91X filing from Star Mutual RRG (Policy #311144A79A126, $750,000 BIPD) with Status "Active," Received Date 5/19/2026, Effective Date 5/14/2026.
So MOTUS shows authority granted and insurance active, while L&I and public SAFER show no insurance on file and no granted authority — a direct data mismatch between the two systems for the same USDOT/MC number. No error code was displayed; this is a status/data discrepancy, not a crash or access failure. We called the FMCSA Contact Center ([phone number removed]) and was told everything looks correct on their end, but the public-facing SAFER/L&I record still does not reflect this.
This is preventing brokers and third-party verification platforms (RMIS, Highway, MyCarrierPortal) from recognizing the MC as active, since they pull from SAFER/L&I rather than MOTUS directly.
