About the MOTUS Bug Board

MOTUS Bug Board is run by Don Norman Associates (DNA), a trucking compliance firm that has handled federal trucking filings since 1955. It is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation.

What it is

MOTUS Bug Board (motusbugs.com) is a free public tracker for bugs and outages in MOTUS, the FMCSA's motor carrier registration system that launched on May 19, 2026. Carriers and compliance professionals report MOTUS problems here, and Don Norman Associates staff review each report, confirm real bugs, and flag known workarounds. People also call it MotusBugs, after its address, motusbugs.com.

It tracks 82 issues today. 71 are open and 11 are fixed.

How it works

Anyone can report a MOTUS bug without an account. DNA staff read every report. When several people report the same problem, staff merge the reports into one issue and count everyone affected. Staff set each issue's status and flag issues that have a workaround.

Reporters' names, email addresses, phone numbers and USDOT numbers are never shown on the board.

What it is not

The board is not part of FMCSA and can't change anything in MOTUS. Only FMCSA can fix MOTUS or your record.
