What was reported
I initially attempted to link my USDOT number, which took nearly three weeks to complete.
As a new motor carrier, I also needed to update my legal business name. I submitted the MCS-150 and MCSA-5889 forms, but no action was taken between May 20 and June 18.
The issue did not end there. After finally linking my USDOT number, I paid the required $14 fee to update my legal name. However, the MOTUS system is not allowing FMCSA to process my MCS-150 because it does not recognize the payment and continues to request an additional payment.
Without this legal name change being processed, I cannot take possession of my truck. In the meantime, I am incurring insurance costs, truck payment obligations, and losing approximately $5,000 per week in gross revenue due to the delay.
